Lessons from a Mentorship
I can’t believe it’s been two months now since my mentorship with Emily with Simply Blessings Photography. As I sit here this quiet winter morning, I can’t help but reflect on what I learned from her. A little voice keeps reminding me “The world needs to see your Art.”
I am a doer, but also an observer and a thinker. Which always leads me to go out and do things myself. But I always end up questioning whether I am missing something, or if it’s just part of evolving as a creative. Listening to Emily’s story and her ‘why’ made me reflect on so much, and it confirmed that as creatives, we all go through similar experiences.
I enjoyed observing her approach during her sessions and how she engaged with the families. Even though our time together was brief, attending her mentorship left a lasting impact. I am deeply grateful for her time, wisdom, and the invaluable guidance she shared. My only regret was not having extra time to get to know each other more. I truly tried to soak it all in, and Colorado will always hold a special place in my heart.
As I reflect and question my ‘why,’ I’m reminded of the deep gratitude I feel for this life we are all gifted. Witnessing families in their most authentic moments, seeing their unique stories and the love they share—this is what I truly love to capture.
Photographing a Beautiful Model Family
One of the highlights of this mentorship was photographing a beautiful model family whose love for each other was evident in every moment. Their genuine connection made the experience not only heartwarming but also deeply moving.
I hope you will see the warmth and affection that made capturing their story such a joy and inspiration.
